Ownship Technologies

Infrastructure built for the people who actually own it.

Ownship Technologies designs and deploys practical, client-controlled infrastructure for organizations that want capable systems without surrendering ownership, visibility, or long-term control.

Infrastructure services

Ownship focuses on the systems underneath normal business operations: the parts that should quietly work, remain understandable, and not become a hostage situation six months later.

Infrastructure Architecture

Planning and design for compute, virtualization, storage, networking, identity, backup, remote access, and supporting services.

Server & Virtualization

Deployment and organization of physical and virtual infrastructure with clear workload, resource, and recovery boundaries.

Networking

Practical network design, segmentation, routing, remote access, service placement, and resilient connectivity.

Storage & Backup

Primary storage, shared storage, backup, recovery planning, retention, and data placement designed around business needs.

Identity & Access

Account, authentication, privilege, and remote-access design with scoped authority and understandable administrative boundaries.

Infrastructure Modernization

Cleanup and redesign of existing environments that have accumulated technical debt, unclear ownership, or unnecessary complexity.

Client ownership is not an optional feature.

Where practical, infrastructure is built under client-controlled accounts, domains, credentials, licenses, storage, and administrative authority. Runesmith may design, deploy, operate, or support the environment, but the underlying system should not become ours simply because we touched it.

The objective is straightforward: clients should remain because the service is valuable, not because the architecture makes leaving painful.

Designed for operation, not presentation slides

The best architecture is the one that keeps working after the project meeting ends.

Stable Production systems should prioritize predictable operation over constant experimentation.
Understandable A competent administrator should be able to understand how the environment is put together.
Maintainable Updates, replacement, troubleshooting, backup, and recovery should be practical parts of the design.
Right-Sized Enough capacity and headroom for the actual workload, growth, and failure scenarios without buying complexity for sport.
Documented Key architecture, configuration, ownership, and operational knowledge should survive the person who built it.
Replaceable Individual products and vendors should be able to change without forcing a complete rebuild of the environment.

From requirement to operating system

Infrastructure projects are treated as operational systems, not just installation jobs.

01

Assess

Understand the current environment, requirements, constraints, risks, budget, and ownership.

02

Architect

Build a design around the workload and future operational needs rather than a predetermined product stack.

03

Deploy

Implement, test, document, and validate the environment with recovery and access paths in place.

04

Transfer or Operate

Hand the system to the client, continue support, or transition ongoing operations to the appropriate Runesmith capability.

Planning, rebuilding, or untangling infrastructure?

Start with what the environment needs to accomplish, what already exists, and what constraints matter. Ownship can work forward from there.
